Vacant Home Caretakers was born in the depressed real estate market of  Eastern Washington in 1979.  The area was filled with empty homes after the nuclear power plant production at Hanford was halted.  Suzanne Carnevali, a licensed real estate broker with years of experience in property management and real estate sales, recognized the need for qualified renters to occupy these vacant homes until they could be sold.

She developed the caretaker concept and began the first Vacant Home Caretakers business shortly thereafter.  What started as a local company matching renters, who desired a reduced rent, with owners and Realtors, who needed someone to occupy and care for a home until it could be sold, has spread across the country.

Vacant Home Caretaker has offices and sold Business Opportunities in Washington, Oregon, and California cities. The company continues to grow and to add related services.  Vacant Home Caretaker’s businesses are able to offer vacation house sitting and vacant home inspection programs also.

We now have in excess of 30 years experience managing vacant properties.  Vacant Home Caretakers have regularly been used by some of the largest Real Estate Companies including Windermere, Coldwell Bankers, Re/Max and Century 21.
